Denham Place, Buckinghamshire

Conservation Management Plan for Lancelot “Capability” Brown Parkland

Denham Place is a fine surviving example of a late 18th century landscape park, thought to be designed by Lancelot “Capability” Brown. The park surrounds a magnificent 17th century, Grade 1 listed mansion.

We were commissioned to carry out a detailed survey of the historic landscape and prepare a Conservation Management Plan for the Parkland. This included the survey and analysis of surviving field archeology and historic landscape features in order to evaluate their heritage significance. We devised a range of policies aimed at securing the conservation and management of the historic character of the estate and made proposals for a new, overall landscape masterplan.
